This year’s edition of the popular Amazing Thailand Grand Sale is on until 15 August 2015, with shopping discounts and other promotions available around the kingdom and leading airlines including, of course, Thai Airways International, offering great deals on flights to Thailand.
The Amazing Thailand Grand Sale 2015 is focused on the seven main tourist destinations of Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Hat Yai, Pattaya, Hua Hin and Udon Thani. Also this year, in a nod to the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Discover Thainess marketing campaign, shoppers who wear traditional Thai dress can enjoy extra special discounts and perks in participating stores.
Since it began in 1998, the annual grand sale has grown into what is now the biggest event of its kind in Thailand with some 15,000 shops in over 100 malls and shopping centres offering discounts of between five and 80 per cent on selected goods and items, as well as other fun promotions and special offers.
Venues participating in the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale can be identified with the ‘Red Bag’ symbol they can display on their premises.
Hotels, tour companies, golf clubs and spas also get in on the act when it comes to the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale, which the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) organizes in cooperation with Visa. Visa cardholders making purchases with their card can also enjoy special offers and benefits at participating shops, stores and hotels.
The ‘Travel 365 Days in Thailand’ grand prize draw is again part of this year’s Amazing Thailand Grand Sale, in which winners are entitled to bring a friend to visit Thailand for up to 10 days in each month of the year, with round trip air tickets and hotel accommodation provided. Visa international cardholders who use their Visa card at participating merchants during the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale until 15 August 2015 will receive two chances for each THB 500 spent to win a ‘Travel 365 Days in Thailand’ prize.
Among the malls offering bargains and privileges to shoppers in Thai dress both Thais and foreigners are (in Bangkok) Siam Paragon, Siam Center, CentralWorld, Gaysorn, Amarin, Terminal 21, Emporium, Mega Bangna, Central Chidlom, Central Embassy, ZEN, EmQuartier, Platinum Fashion Mall, MBK Center, River City Mall, Krung Thong Plaza and Intra Square.
